Between cows and climbing fun:

Team meeting 2020 in Kaunertal valley

Until the very end we were concerned whether potential future Corona restrictions would end our plans concerning a team meeting – but we were lucky! Eventually, the AUSTRIALPIN team met at the climbing crag Laimo in Kauntal valley in mid September and was even rewarded with a lot of sunshine and awesome routes! Definitely a day to remember!

This Saturday was all about getting up early, as the way to Kaunertal valley is a long one – at least seen from Eastern Tirol. However, this didn't bother us a lot – quite the contrary: Beautiful weather and a car ride led us through an absolutely stunning landscape including an Almabtrieb with countless cows made us forget the long drive and our as well as our athletes' motivation was rising every minute. This year's team meeting surely was a very big highlight for especially one person: Lukas Achermann, 16 years old from Switzerland, joined our AUSTRIALPIN team and spent the day climbing with us. In this sense once again: Welcome to the A-team Lukas!

After a quick briefing at the parking spot and an approach of about half an hour we reached the climbing crag. It didn't take long for everyone to get equipped with their climbing harness, quickdraws and chalk bags and within the blink of an eye, our athletes were already at the wall and ready for some fun. While team athlete Marvin climbed "Lost Paradise" 8c in second go, Lukas and Cathy conquered "Baseline" 8a. And also Stefan got his money's worth: He successfully tried a new route combination 8b from "Bryonic Man" to "Hochzeitstag". It definitely didn't get boring! A very quick coffee break (of course from our Bialetti) and a little snack – and off they went again.

And everyone who didn't feel rock under the fingernails had to entertain Marvin's dog Ben and throw sticks all day long. :) The weather gods thereby meant well for us – the sun was shining the whole day and made our team meeting a super nice outdoor event which ended with a nice dinner and an awesome atmosphere.
