Name: Martin Sieberer
I’m a latecomer to alpinism, only discovering climbing for myself around the age of 25. But this late-found enthusiasm quickly grew into a passionate dedication that now forms a central part of my identity. Climbing, for me, is more than just a sport—it’s a source of daily happiness and a way to constantly challenge myself.
With strengths in ice and mixed climbing, as well as training as a mountain guide and work as an industrial climber, I’ve established myself in the alpine world. Yet it’s not only the technical side of climbing that fascinates me, but also the unknown—the drive to seek out new adventures on rock and ice.
My expeditions regularly take me to distant countries in search of untouched peaks and remote places. But even in and around my adopted home of Innsbruck, there are plenty of challenges to be found in both rock and ice. I enjoy sharing my passion for the beauty of the mountains with others—whether as a mountain guide, in conversations, lectures, or on social media.
What drives me: Adventure. Even though most of the Alps have been explored, there are still countless adventures waiting around every corner.
