in the ice-climbing world markus is very well known. his most important projects have been „supercanaleta“ on the fitz-roy-massif with cerro torre veteran toni ponholzer and „irgendwie anders“ (Wi7) in the malta valley in carinthia. he is the reigning austrian iceclimbing champion 2012, winning this event for the second time.
